True Calling

Scripture: Psalms 145:

18 The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

Ezekiel 38,39; Psalms 145; Revelation 20 – Passage Lookup – Today’s New International Version – BibleGateway.com

Observation: To truly call on the Lord is to depend on Him when you’re all alone and no one hears you.

Application: Frank worked a second shift job at a factory across town.  Every night after work he walked home and always stopped at the church that he passed on his way, walking up to the altar he would offer a simple prayer, "Lord, it’s me Frank." After praying Frank would continue home, unseen by people, but watched over by God.  In such a simple prayer, Frank displayed a complex and deep faith only to God.  It was not a prayer of eloquence, but it resounds with trust, although the words are few, Frank’s heart was full.

We don’t have to be good speakers, or know the best words and phrases to put together in a prayer to be truly communing with God.  All we have to do is be willing to acknowledge and accept that God is with us,

Don’t worry so much about what you need to ask of God today.  He knows your needs before you ask, He knows what is best for you, and He desires good things for your life.  Be silent, call on Him in truth – and know that He is near!

Prayer:

Lord, it’s me Michael
