Scripture Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
You will know a tree by the fruit it produces, we can check our souls by the quality of the fruit produced in our lives.
When Paul spoke of the fruit of the Spirit, he doesn’t mean that these things are happening to you all the time, and if you’re a Child of the Spirit, that these fruits should be showing up all around you. Instead these things, this fruit of the spirit, flows from within you and out to the world.
When there is sadness, and the world expects that from you, you can surprise them with the fruit of the Spirit and spring forth in Joy.
The world may be full of confusion and panic, but we are sources of peace, patience and self-control through the Spirit of God within. When the turbulent waves of evil and self ambition fill the world around, we can calm the storm with kindness and goodness from within ourselves.
The world around us is hungry. Let us feed the them the bread of life, and the new wine of the Spirit within us.
Father help me to produce these fruits of the spirit within my heart and share them to the hungry world without.
I give up my need to receive the fruits from the world, and resolve myself to produce and share them with others.
